Whether an image counts as inspiring, or a meal as healthy, may not mean the same thing to everyone.

Google Research’s “Agile Deliberation” work lets users describe the boundaries of concepts through examples. The system takes feedback, especially about images where it remains unsure, and improves the classification instructions.

Google says it evaluated the method with human participants and shared the related code as open source. The approach is focused on understanding more clearly what the user means.
